Amanita brunnescens is a common summer species here in Tennessee, can be found in deciduous and mixed woods.  One of the defining characteristics for this Amanita is it has longitudinally split, grooved basal bulb, once though to be deadly poisonous, but now unsure.  I'm not willing to test it, are you?
