Boletus pallidus:  This is without a doubt the most common edible Bolete in the Tennessee woods and is quite good.  It is a blue stainer,if you eliminate all the blue staining Boletes from your list of edible Boletes, you are doing yourself a misjustice.  They are no harder to learn than any other mushroom.  It has no distinctive taste or smell, bruises blue and has a whitish buff colored cap.  Found in oak woods.  Photograph was taken in Cumberland County, TN
