Boletus seperans?-John P, This looks like Boletus Seperans to me. Although one cannot rule out Boletus Subseperans. Boletus Seperans is one of our most abundant edible summer boletes. I generally find them in early July growing in mixed hardwoods...oak, beech, birch...- Dave Wasilewski
