Description:
Common Name: Shaggy Mane Cap: White to Brownish bell-shaped cap, can be very scaly. Flesh: Gills: White to pinkish to black and inky, depending on age. Very crowded. Stalk: Medium, White to buff with age, very fragile and splits easily. Fruiting: Scattered and clustered on soil in grassy lawns. Fall. Edibility: A choice edible mushroom. Note: All of the above mushrooms were found in November 2004 in Wayne County, Indiana.
