Description:

Common Name: Black Chanterelle Cap: Black velvety 1-3", depressing in the center, and  funnel shaped. Wavy to rounded margin Flesh:  Fragrant fruity odor. Gills:   Stalk:  Fruiting: Scattered and clustered on soil. Pines and Oaks/ etc. Summer and Fall. Edibility: A choice edible mushroom, Usually found growing near the common Chanterelle, Cantharellus cibarius. Note: These were all found in Penn.
