Description:

Common Name: Chestnut Bolete Cap: 1-2.5", pale orange- reddish brown, small to medium, rounded. Flesh: Thick, white. Not much odor. Gills:(Pores) Whitish, non-bruising, tubes shallow, free, and notched and deeply depressed around apex of stalk. Stalk: Slender, brownish. Fruiting: Solitary or grouped. Midwest- east, south to Florida. Spore Print: Yellow. Edibility: Some rate it excellent, but usually not enough can be found in sufficient quantity and size.
