Hydnum umbilicatum

This is Hydnum umbilicatum aka Navel Hedgehog.
There were many in patches scattered about moss and oaks in a wet area in
North Central Ohio. Small, only 2 inches at most. Decent edible, though one
would have to collect alot. Notice the belly-button-like hole in the cap on
left in the first photo and the orange staining where cut in the second. chris
