Hygrophorus tennesseensis

Hygrophorus tennesseensis:  It is defined as having a brownish sticky cap, white margin & gills, bitter tasting flesh with the smell of raw patotoes.  Apparently not poisonous, the bitter taste and slimy top have deterred me from trying it.  Found in the fall, usually under hemlock and spruce. common and unedible.
