Upcoming Events and Appearances

If you would like to invite Chris to speak at your mushroom event, just send him an email. There are several presentations available.

2008 will be my busiest schedule ever for guided mushroom forays. I am making tentative plans in many diverse locations. If you are interested in any of the 2008 forays, be sure to go ahead and notify me now, so that I can put you on the list. I already have many of you on the foray lists for next year, so obviously these will fill up quickly once the registration is opened up. I will not actually open registration until late December this year, and those on the interested list will be notified prior to opening the registration! Also, if you have any interest in hosting a foray in your area, also please contact me, and I will speak to you about it. Also, I am available to give private forays and hunts, usually during the week, just contact me for info.

The above dates are subject to change, but if you have any interest at all, please send me an email. Other events may also be added as opportunities arise.

I also want to in the near future have forays in Pennsylvania, New England areas, several areas in Canada.

More distant future- Italy, Switzerland, Japan, England, New Zealand, Mexico, Tibet, China

March 14th, 2007- Chris will speak at Atlanta Botanical Gardens 1345 Piedmont Avenue NE
Atlanta, GA 30309, from 7-8:00 PM. This will be a mainly Morel Mushroom Discussion.

March 31st/ April 1st, 2007- Georgia Morel Foray. This year, we booked up within 4 days of offering it. If you are interested, be sure and send Chris an email.

April 6th/7th, 2007- Knoxville Morel Foray. Limited to the first 15 entrants.

April 14th/15th 2007- Western Kentucky Morel Foray. Limited to the first 15 entrants.

April 28th/ 29th, 2007: Chris Matherly will be at the Irvine, Kentucky Festival, and Mansfield, Indiana Festival

May 5th, 6th, 2007: Chris Matherly will be at the Illinois Festival in Henry, and pass through the Festival in Richmond, Missouri. Chris will be one the the professional Morel Guides for Tom Nauman, on a special guided hunt on Sunday.

May 12th-20th, 2007: Chris Matherly will be on location filming with the Travel Channel crew, first starting near Madison Wisconsin, stopping by the Festival in Wisconsin, then moving on to Southern Michigan, holding a member foray there, and then heading North to the Boyne City Festival. The Travel Channel will be following Chris all the way! This episode should air in Fall 2007 or Winter 2008.

May 19th/ 20th, 2007: Chris Matherly will attend the Boyne City, Michigan Festival

June 8th, 9th, and 10th 2007- Yukon, Canada Fire Burn Foray. Limited to the first 10 entrants.

August 10th-12th, 2007- Chris will attend the Asheville Mushroom Club's Camp and foray in NC.

August 18th, 19th, 2007- Black Trumpet and Chanterelle Foray, held in Georgia.

September 9th, 10th 2007- Chris Matherly will be at the PA Mushroom Festival.

October 6-8th, 2007- Chris Matherly will be at the Hen Of The Woods Mushroom Member Foray in Columbus, Ohio.

It was so wonderful to meet you yesterday at the Mushroom Club of Georgia meeting. Your program was VERY VERY informative and I plan to use that information EVERY time I go out this spring (and thereafter!). How awesome at the number of morels and the size you and the group found last weekend! I never dreamed that morels grew so well here in Georgia. I have seen morels twice in the distant passed, but not until I joined the
mushroom have I seen them since and then there were only a few once again. Once again.... thank you so very much for your presentation. It was awesome! -Teresa

Chris - Thanks for a great time at your morel foray. You are a great host. The event was well planned and I can't believe the mother lode you showed us on Saturday. The meal on Sunday was delicious and really gave the event a grand conclusion. I enjoyed meeting everyone. They were a real diversified bunch from all walks of life. The boys from Tennessee were a riot.
